Its
550 species fill 17 major habitats, 31 focus exhibits and
takes visitors on a journey throughout the Pacific Ocean's
three regions: Southern California/Baja; the Tropical Pacific
and the Northern Pacific.
Management Resources conducted a complete marketing and operational
audit of the organization and provided short and long-term
recommendations for improving the financial performance. Specific
tasks included:
- The
review of Aquarium visitor experience and programming/attraction
elements;
- a
supply-side analysis of facility capacity and throughput;
- review
of local market complementary and competitive attractions,
- and
review of ticket packages and pricing, marketing and sales
programs.
Subsequently we were retained to implement our recommendations
including the creation and implementation of the Behind-The-Scenes
Tour and Ocean Experience.
We continue our involvement with the Aquarium by providing
operational and physical planning input for the proposed expansion.
The Aquarium anchors the upcoming waterfront development in
Long Beach, The Pike.
