Please Touch Museum
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

MR was retained by the museum to assist their team with the upcoming expansion and relocation of the Please Touch Museum to Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park in 2007, where it will occupy 135,000 square feet of space. The museum, which opened its doors in 1976, has strived to serve the educational needs of children and families in an entertaining and hands-on way. With open-ended and interactive exhibits and programs, the Please Touch Museum has certainly set itself apart as a haven for the enrichment of children’s lives!

Working with project team members at the museum, MR reviewed concept and programming, market feasibility, operating data and operating assumptions. We developed attendance distribution models and computed visitor arrival and departure patterns based on the new facility's operating hours. We also developed a design day analysis that has been used to provide physical planning requirements for the new facility.

Most recently, we have assisted with the development of their new facility business plan and continue to review the new program plan providing operational input to their design team.

We are delighted to count the Please Touch Museum as a client for over 5 years!
