Audited the existing marketing and ticket sales programs at this southern California children’s theme park. We provided specific recommendations on how to immediately enhance and improve the marketing efforts to increase paid attendance. Subsequently, we were retained to help implement the group sales recommendations.
 
Grand Canyon Northlands

Management Resources was retained by Grand Canyon Northlands to develop preliminary concepts for theme park or entertainment attractions in two different markets in Arizona. MR conducted a complete market review for both sites in addition to a trend and competition analysis. Based on our information, preliminary conceptual ideas and options as well as a preliminary business plan were developed for two locations.
 
Entertainment Development
Sayreville, New Jersey
Management Resources was involved with a 54-acre entertainment development in Sayreville, New Jersey. The entertainment component is part of a proposed approximate 450 acre master-planned residential and mixed-use redevelopment. MR managed the design of the entertainment component, and provided a preliminary business plan and physical planning requirements for a theme park and water park.
 
The Museum of Broadcast Communications

The Museum of Broadcast Communications (MBC) is one of only three broadcast museums in the United States. Management Resources developed preliminary operating assumptions/criteria for the MBC including such elements as operating hours, special exhibitions and programming, ticket pricing, and merchandise. In addition, MR provided operational input into the design of the facility and identified capacity modifications required to ensure that expected attendance potential could be realistically achieved.

Kennedy Space Center

MR is proud of our involvement with the $60 million tourist attraction at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Designed by BRC with operational input support from Management Resources, the attraction aims to trigger an emotional reaction to U.S. human spaceflight. It also is designed to immerse visitors in the mechanics and history of America's space shuttle.

Working in conjunction with NASA and other project team members, Management Resources provided operational programming for the master plan of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. This included reviewing attractions, operational data and attendance from the current Center and developing a daily, weekly and monthly attendance distribution model for future projected attendance. Based on anticipated attendance and operating assumptions, we developed operational requirements for admissions, attractions, site tour, food/beverage, merchandise, and visitor services activities.

Provided an operational and marketing audit to identify specific opportunities for the Studio Tour and Turner Experience in order to increase the group tour and travel industry ticket sales efforts. Made recommendations regarding specific packaging and net pricing programs. Developed a program outline that included a suggested time line, specific tasks, budgets and attendance goals.

During the project concept development phase, MR functioned as the operations group for AOL/Time Warner, providing insight and input into the concept from an operational perspective, specifically relating to the project’s access and egress, overall guest circulation and crowd control, as well as admissions, shows, attractions, exhibits and tours. Additionally, MR reviewed the projections of the existing economic study to determine the reasonableness of all assumptions and recommend changes where needed, including: ticket pricing; admissions per capita spending; merchandise per capita spending; cost of sales; labor and expense costs. Based on the economic review, MR developed a new financial proforma and projected EBITDA, along with financial sensitivity models.
